About

We are not currently accepting new interpreting volunteers for Spanish.

Interpret key conversations between Amica Center staff, clients, and expert witnesses. Interpreters can expect to interpret a variety of types of calls, including but not limited to hearing debriefs, trial preparations, psychological evaluations, asylum interviews, and status updates. Fluency in English and another language is required. Volunteer interpreters can choose to interpret several calls per week, once per month, or anything in between. Most live interpretation calls are completed remotely. However, there will be occasional opportunities for in-person interpretation at either Amica Center’s DC office or a detention facility in the region.
